Larry L. Miller
Attorney and President
Larry’s practice began in Des Moines, Iowa in 1982 following his graduation from Drake University Law School. There he developed a successful practice in real estate and general civil law. In 1995, the Miller family moved to the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia.
Law being the core of Larry’s professional life, he quickly acclimated to the central Virginia community and built a practice based on the concept of family and the quality of life. Each person who becomes a client of Miller Law Group, PC becomes a part of Larry’s extended family. Many clients receive service in multiple aspects of their lives. Larry takes his commitment to “We help you live your life” as not just a catchy phrase but a real mission.
Real Estate transactions have always been a focus for Larry. The old days of simply buying, selling and re-financing have become so much more diverse. Staying abreast of short sales, foreclosures, loan modifications, and unique arrangements required by many transactions are all part of the daily services Larry and his real estate staff offer.
Bankruptcies and Debt Relief solutions are a second major area for Larry. People have been hit hard and they do not know where to turn. Sometimes Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings are the best and only choice for people. Sometimes there are other options to explore first. Due to Larry’s diverse background in the law and the broad practice area for Miller Law Group, P.C., Larry is able to draw from many sources to craft a solution for clients that is greater than the cookie cutter approach employed at other offices.
General Civil Practice involves many aspects of people’s lives. To provide these services, you must like people. You must feel that you can assist them with the challenges they face. This is the third aspect of Larry’s practice areas. Family law – divorces, child custody, child support. Business formation — Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, Sub Chapter S Corporations, review or creation of leases, employment contracts, purchase if existing businesses, sale of existing businesses, and much more. Wills, Powers of Attorney, Adoptions, General Advice, difficulties with neighbors, contractors, customers, debt collectors, all come under the heading of General Civil Practice.
Larry has been and continues to be very dedicated to serving his community through many roles including:
- Boy Scouts of America — Eagle Scout
- Blue Ridge Mountain Rotary Club and Rotary International
- Piedmont Valley Football Officials Association
- UVA football “chain crew”
- St. Mark Lutheran Church Adult Choir, and playing trumpet for the church brass group
- Trumpet player as an at large member of the Soul Transit Authority Band
- The Falcon Club — a local organization of adults who raise money to support youth athletics in the area
